Pregnancy Ultrasound
Common reasons for an ultrasound during pregnancy include:
- Pregnancy dating & viability
- Vaginal bleeding or pain in early pregnancy
- Nuchal translucency to assess the risk of a foetus being affected with a chromosomal abnormality
- 18 week foetal morphology to exclude any structural abnormality (Second Trimester Screening)
- Placental localisation
- Cervical length assessment for women at increased risk of preterm birth
- Multiple pregnancy
